Job Title: Classroom Assistant - Indigenous Language and International Languages Program

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Classroom Assistant to support our Indigenous Language and International Languages program. The successful candidate will work closely with our instructors to provide a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students during classroom activities through various instructional strategies
  • Promote positive attitudes and encourage enthusiasm for language learning
  • Provide each student with appropriate and positive feedback that builds confidence and strength
  • Develop and maintain an equitable and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate with the classroom instructor about students' progress and concerns
  • Ensure the safety of students both inside and outside the classroom
  • Establish safe dismissal procedures in consultation with the classroom instructor
  • Assist students, volunteers, and instructors to restore the room to its original state at the end of the class
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Candidate selection will be based on the results of an interview, experience, and qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have some of the following assets and/or experiences: fluency in various languages, teaching experience, experience working with children, and related education
