Job Title: Airport Security Operations Manager

Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Airport Security Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our airport screening services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage screening checkpoints to ensure compliance with service level agreements.
  • Work with labor relations experts to maintain an engaged workforce and exceed CATSA deliverables.
  • Investigate performance and misconduct issues, ensuring all necessary steps are followed in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Monitor and reduce incidents, engaging with employees and addressing performance issues promptly.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to Service Delivery Managers and Screening Officers.
  • Lead performance reviews for Screening Officers, incorporating feedback from Service Delivery Managers.
  • Collaborate with the People and Culture department to ensure candidates are adequately prepared for CATSA training and on-the-job training.
  • Exercise excellent customer service skills and respond to escalated complaints.
  • Perform emergency and incident response as required.
  • Conduct audits of screening processes, identify areas for improvement, and direct the Training Department to address individual and team-based deficiencies.
  • Coordinate the movement of Screening Officers between checkpoints to minimize security screening wait times.
  • Conduct security briefings to ensure adherence to security notices, bulletins, and directives.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, CATSA, and Union representatives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of managerial experience, managing a large workforce.
  • Previous experience managing unionized employees is an asset.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Previous experience in aviation security or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions in real-time.
  • Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and standards.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).
  • Ability to successfully complete Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) Training and obtain D/A certification.
  • Ability to successfully complete Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate (A-ROC).

Salary: $85,000 - $90,000

Work Hours: 24/7 positions, requiring open availability for morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts.

Location: Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
