Job Title: Occupational Therapist II

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist II to join our team in the Complex ADHD Treatment Team. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a critical role in providing consultation to professionals and assessment of children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy assessment and consultation to professionals and families
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to contribute to mental health assessments and provide clarity regarding DSM-V diagnoses
  • Manage caseload effectively and work with families and other professionals to formulate assessments, meaningful case plans, and facilitate referrals as requested
  • Explore presenting problems from a client-focused perspective and assess client's coping skills and social support systems
  • Collaborate with families and community service providers to develop and facilitate the most appropriate service plan
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Knowledge of DSM-V diagnosis and brain story certification preferred
  • Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders and psychosis preferred
