Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director, Commercial Operations to lead our commercial underwriting and lending initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mortgage lending and underwriting, with a proven track record of driving business growth and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial underwriting and lending initiatives to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency
  • Develop and implement tactical strategies to support the overall commercial business strategy and achieve objectives
  • Manage high-volume demands and competing priorities, ensuring timely delivery of projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to improve underwriting and administrative systems, maximizing effectiveness and achieving excellence
  • Monitor risks and identify escalating issues related to implementation and performance of projects
  • Work closely with the Business Risk Management team to support the business in identifying, assessing, measuring, and mitigating risks
  • Evaluate business partners, including agents, appraisers, and environmental consultants, to ensure quality and performance metrics are met
  • Responsible for reviewing and assessing all Servicer onboarding documentation, including financial statements and policy/procedures
  • Develop and maintain Servicer Management procedures, including onboarding and ongoing monitoring and risk assessments
  • Review and maintain Mortgage Participation & Servicing Agreements annually, in conjunction with Servicers, legal counsel, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • 10+ years of mortgage lending/underwriting experience with increasing responsibility
  • In-depth understanding of commercial lending products, policies/guidelines, and procedures
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to identify risks and remove roadblocks
  • Ability to manage high-volume demands and competing priorities, ensuring timely delivery of projects and initiatives
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/influence others to achieve department and corporate goals
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and listening skills
