Position Overview

Type: Full-time

Location: Montreal, QC

The Application Specialist Level 2 will report to the APM Business Intelligence team and will be responsible for the development, implementation, support, documentation, and analytical services for the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) platform. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of Oracle databases, OBIEE tools, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse architecture, and ETL design and development using ODI. Strong analytical skills, sound development methodologies, and best practices in business intelligence and data warehousing are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, test, implement, and support all facets of the OBIEE platform, including databases, data models, data warehouse architecture, ETL processes using ODI, Repository (RPD) design, OBIEE reporting, and dashboard tools, as well as performance optimization and server processes.
  2. Adhere to established change control processes and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with various Application Portfolio groups to comprehend the data schema and utilize existing queries and extracts for business users through the OBIEE platform.
  4. Engage in a team-oriented environment, working alongside other Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse developers to understand current applications and create new solutions.
  5. Contribute to processes requiring knowledge of Microsoft SSIS ETL.
  6. Provide production support to end users and be available on a rotation basis to assist with ETL batches and meet OBIEE Service Level Agreements.
  7. Follow directions from and collaborate with senior members of the Application Management team on various projects and tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Minimum of five years and less than ten years of experience in Information Technology.
  2. Experience in the Retail Industry is advantageous.
  3. Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  4. Strong expertise in OBIEE 11g and data warehouse implementation projects.
  5. Proficient in ODI 11g.
  6. In-depth knowledge of OBIEE and ODI architecture.
  7. Expertise in OBIEE RPD design and report creation, along with a solid understanding of ODI.
  8. Familiarity with BI Publisher.
  9. Strong skills in PL/SQL and SQL.
  10. Extensive experience in requirement gathering, designing, and developing OBIEE and ODI solutions.
  11. Solid experience in data modeling within data warehousing.
  12. Strong knowledge of performance tuning in OBIEE 11g.
  13. Proficient in Unix/Linux scripting.
  14. Familiarity with Weblogic administration.
  15. Knowledge of Oracle OLAP/Cube is a plus.
  16. Familiarity with SSIS is beneficial.
  17. Strong technical skills in data warehousing and business intelligence, including Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle databases, PL/SQL, data warehouse design, data modeling, ETL process design and development, ODI, and performance tuning.
  18. Ability to work independently with a strong motivation to identify and complete necessary tasks.
  19. Effective communication skills to educate business users about data warehousing and business intelligence technologies in relatable terms.
  20. Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the Applications Management team.
