Position Overview

As a full-time Application Specialist Level 2, you will report to the APM Business Intelligence team. Your primary responsibilities will include the development, implementation, support, documentation, and analytical services for the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Oracle databases, OBIEE tools, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse architecture, and ETL design and development using ODI.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, test, implement, and maintain all facets of the OBIEE platform, including databases, data models, data warehouse architecture, ETL processes utilizing ODI, Repository (RPD) design, and OBIEE reporting and dashboard tools.
  2. Adhere to established change control protocols and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with various Application Portfolio teams to comprehend the data schema and utilize existing queries and extracts to create information tools for business users via the OBIEE platform.
  4. Engage in a collaborative team environment, working alongside other Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse developers to understand existing applications and develop new solutions.
  5. Contribute to processes requiring expertise in Microsoft SSIS ETL.
  6. Provide production environment support to end users and participate in a rotation to oversee ETL batches and OBIEE Service Level Agreements.
  7. Work under the guidance of senior members of the Application Management team on various projects and tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Minimum of five years and less than ten years of experience in Information Technology.
  2. Experience in the retail industry is advantageous.
  3. Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  4. In-depth knowledge of OBIEE 11g and data warehouse implementation projects.
  5. Strong expertise in ODI 11g.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of OBIEE and ODI architecture.
  7. Proficient in OBIEE RPD design and report creation, with solid knowledge of ODI.
  8. Familiarity with BI Publisher.
  9. Strong command of PL/SQL and SQL.
  10. Extensive experience in requirements gathering, designing, and developing OBIEE and ODI solutions.
  11. Proficient in data modeling within data warehousing contexts.
  12. Solid understanding of performance tuning in OBIEE 11g.
  13. Experience with Unix/Linux scripting.
  14. Knowledge of Weblogic administration.
  15. Familiarity with Oracle OLAP/Cube is a plus.
  16. Understanding of SSIS is beneficial.
  17. Strong technical skills in data warehousing and business intelligence, including expertise in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle databases, PL/SQL, data warehouse design, data modeling, ETL process design and development, ODI, and performance tuning.
  18. Ability to work independently with a strong initiative to identify and address tasks effectively.
  19. Capability to communicate effectively with business users regarding data warehousing and business intelligence technologies.
  20. Ability to function effectively as part of the Applications Management team.
