Role Overview

In the role of Bilingual Senior Manager, Financial Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in supporting multi-unit construction financing and energy retrofit applications under the National Housing Strategy (NHS). Your expertise will be crucial in providing underwriting and credit assessment services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively assess future needs, maintaining consistent communication to ensure projects align with annual budgets.
  • Lead the evaluation and decision-making processes for financial applications related to multi-unit affordable housing.
  • Coordinate efforts among national teams and clients across various time zones to enhance program efficiency.
  • Set performance goals and foster a culture of engagement and accountability within your team.
  • Promote bilingualism and diversity, implementing practices that support an inclusive and respectful workplace.
  • Engage in negotiations with housing providers on complex applications, managing politically sensitive issues effectively.
  • Oversee risk management by ensuring due diligence in reviewing and approving complex applications.
  • Contribute strategic insights for policy enhancements related to Affordable Housing and Insurance.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in housing programs and three years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Extensive knowledge of underwriting principles, credit risk analysis, and real estate financing.
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate ideas and proposals.
  • Critical thinking and judgment skills to navigate politically sensitive issues and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities in both official languages (French and English).
