About the Role
As a member of the Financial Solutions Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting multi-unit construction financing and energy retrofit applications under the National Housing Strategy (NHS). Your responsibilities will include providing underwriting and credit assessment services to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively assess future needs and maintain consistent communication to ensure project commitments align with annual budgets.
- Lead the evaluation and decision-making process for financial applications related to multi-unit affordable housing.
- Coordinate efforts among national teams and clients across various time zones to enhance program efficiency.
- Foster a culture of engagement and accountability within your team.
- Promote bilingualism and diversity, ensuring an inclusive and respectful workplace.
- Negotiate complex applications with housing providers, managing politically sensitive issues with care.
- Oversee risk management by ensuring due diligence in application reviews and compliance monitoring.
- Contribute strategically to policy enhancements for Affordable Housing and Insurance.
Qualifications:
- A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience and three years in a supervisory or management role.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, credit risk analysis, and housing financing.
- Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate ideas and proposals.
- Critical thinking and judgment skills to navigate politically sensitive issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both official languages.
