Job Summary:
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Keethanow Group of Businesses is seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for assisting the Comptroller and Finance Officers in managing, processing, and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as an ambassador for the Store Band Policies & Procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence at all times.
- Handle operations of the payments to Accounts Receivable database in the store, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Apply payments accurately and in a timely manner to applicable accounts, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Maintain monthly reports on Accounts Receivable to assist the Finance Officer, providing valuable insights and analysis.
- Handle employee, customer, and department queries related to billing accounts, providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain purchase orders and invoicing databases, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information.
- Utilize strong database skills to enter, modify, and correct payments in the cashier application, ensuring seamless transactions.
- Develop and maintain strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and email), utilizing these tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Basic knowledge of the accounting cycle process is essential, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills are required, with the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Train and correct employee duties toward A/R as needed, ensuring a high level of accuracy and compliance.
- Make sound decisions independently, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
- Monitor and assist with front-line staff cashier's regulation, advising and reporting to the manager as needed.
- Assist with Payroll duties as required, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Carry out other work-related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
- 1-year experience in a retail environment, with a proven track record of excellent customer relationship skills.
- Business Office certificate degree preferred or grade 12 with combined retail/office experience.
- Basic understanding of the accounting cycle, with a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Accurately and efficiently work with the Finance Officer and Manager to meet sensitive time lines, ensuring business operations run smoothly.
- Proven leadership skills to lead and direct others, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
- Punctual, honest, and reliable, with a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, managing time efficiently and effectively.
