Kent is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to be based in Calgary, AB.

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the procurement process for various projects, reporting directly to the Director of Procurement and Contracts.

Your responsibilities will include sourcing, negotiating, and securing the essential goods and services necessary for the successful delivery of our projects.

Your primary objective will be to ensure cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and high-quality procurement solutions that align with project goals and organizational objectives.

This position is a full-time role with a one-year term.

Project Procurement Strategy:
Formulate and execute procurement strategies tailored to the unique needs of each project.

Vendor Management:
Identify and assess potential vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers to ensure a dependable and diverse network of partners.

Contract Management:
Draft, review, and finalize contracts and purchase orders. Ensure adherence to legal and company standards while minimizing risks associated with procurement activities.

Cost Control:
Oversee project budgets and expenditures related to procurement. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or project timelines.

Risk Assessment:
Evaluate and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement, including supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, or vendor reliability.

Supplier Performance Monitoring:
Track the performance of vendors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle. Address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain project momentum and quality standards.

Compliance and Regulations:
Stay informed about relevant procurement laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Maintain thorough records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor performance. Generate reports and updates for project managers and senior management as needed.
Continuously assess and enhance procurement processes, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in procurement and supply chain are advantageous.
~10+ years of experience in project procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a related industry.
~ Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract management, and sourcing strategies.
~ Familiarity with procurement software and tools for process optimization is desirable.
~ Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines. Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
