Position Summary:
We are in search of a proactive Maintenance Manager to become an integral part of our team. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing all facets of the maintenance division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the upkeep of manufacturing assets and manage the maintenance budget and resources.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new systems.
  • Lead the Electrical and Maintenance Supervisors while supporting a team of 29 personnel.
  • Oversee purchasing and inventory management.

Essential Skills:
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of safety, health, and environmental compliance through effective communication, monitoring, training, and performance standards.
  • Foster accountability for results and actions among direct reports through education, motivation, documentation, and behavior-based coaching.
  • Supervise both salaried and unionized maintenance staff, coordinating with external vendors and contractors as necessary.
  • Drive operational enhancements and improvements, providing recommendations for major repairs, replacements, upgrades, and new processes.
  • Review and update maintenance instructions and schedules, collaborating closely with the maintenance team and other departments to implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Set and monitor maintenance performance targets, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Address safety concerns raised by employees or identified during safety audits, advising both workers and management of potential or actual hazards.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a process manufacturing environment, preferably with union experience.
  • Red Seal Certification in Electrical or Mechanical fields is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance practices, including reliability concepts, processes, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to empower, supervise, and direct a diverse workforce.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and the ability to interpret technical drawings is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to build inter-departmental relationships, lead change, and continuously improve team performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing work demands.
