Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graduate Program Coordinator and Advisor to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing exceptional support to graduate students in the Kinesiology and Health Sciences Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver graduate program activities, including recruitment, orientation, and academic support.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to graduate students on academic policies, procedures, and milestones.
  • Develop and maintain digital content for promotional materials and social media platforms.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and databases related to graduate student information.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Program Manager and other departmental staff to ensure seamless delivery of graduate program services.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of departmental events and activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with graduate students, faculty, and staff to promote a positive and inclusive graduate student experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with University policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent education, preferably in Kinesiology or a health-related field.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience in an academic department, with a focus on graduate student support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with electronic communication platforms, including social media and content management systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
