Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Graduate Recruitment Officer. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans to attract and retain top graduate students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Planning and Strategy
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive graduate recruitment strategy, aligned with the Faculty's goals and objectives.
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify effective digital media channels and tactics to reach prospective students.
    • Ensure alignment with the University's branding and marketing initiatives.
  • Content Development and Implementation
    • Develop and maintain accurate and engaging content for graduate program webpages, social media, and other communication channels.
    • Identify and produce high-quality testimonials and stories to support graduate program marketing efforts.
    • Develop and coordinate print materials, including brochures and flyers.
  • Knowledge, Research, and Consultation
    • Stay up-to-date on graduate program offerings, admissions processes, and funding opportunities.
    • Conduct research to understand the needs and expectations of prospective graduate students.
    • Consult with faculty members, staff, and students to gather insights and feedback.
  • Budget Planning and Distribution
    • Manage the graduate recruitment budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
    • Monitor and analyze the return on investment for recruitment tactics.
  • Communications Support
    • Provide support for various University communication initiatives, including graduate recruitment events and campaigns.
Qualifications
  • University degree in a field related to communications and marketing.
  • Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to develop marketing plans based on research and data analysis.
  • Strong sense of design and creative choices to support brand and messaging.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools, including Google Analytics and social media platforms.
  • Proven collaborative and independent work habits.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple deadlines.
