Job Title: Occupational Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Safety Specialist to join our team at Walker Industries Holdings Limited. As an Occupational Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Safety Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing information and training to employers, employees, and the general public on occupational safety and health matters.
  • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collecting samples of materials for analysis to identify potential hazards.
  • Inspecting workplaces to identify potential safety and health hazards.
  • Developing and implementing health and safety plans to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed and that all necessary documentation is maintained.
  • Overseeing the preparation of reports and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Advising senior management on occupational safety and health matters.
  • Liaising with management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements:

To be successful as an Occupational Safety Specialist, you will need:

  • A degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in occupational safety and health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
