Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Safety Specialist to join our team at North Texas Municipal Water District. As a key member of our Occupational Health and Safety Management System, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of our OHSM program and promoting a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and support the implementation of our OHSM program and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve safety excellence.
  • Conduct site visits with sub-contractors and site staff to identify and mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Develop and maintain site-specific Safe Work Procedures and ensure compliance with all site safety regulations and client safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Health and Safety profession.
  • Technical knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and O.Reg.213/91 Construction Projects.
Skills
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
