Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Advisor

CRH Canada is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Advisor to join their team at Dufferin Concrete. As a key member of the organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for employees and stakeholders.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for coordinating, promoting, and conducting various OH&S programs and activities related to the OH&S Management System. This includes ensuring compliance with company safety requirements, provincial legislation, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement OH&S policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess safety risks.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and wellness.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external reports to track safety performance and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and best practices in the industry.
Requirements:
  • University degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and acquired work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Health and Safety, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Possess a valid driver's license (Class G or equivalent).
  • Sound knowledge of OH&S principles, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
