Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Advisor

CRH Canada is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of employees, contractors, and the general public.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive health and safety management system that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and providing training to employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Provide training and guidance to employees and contractors on health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement safety initiatives and programs
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Requirements:
  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. occupational health and safety, environmental science, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in the construction industry
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various work sites
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
