About the Role

The Program Assistant provides administrative, financial, and operational support to the supervisor. The role assists the supervisor by responding to requests, supporting the planning and execution of workshops and events, and supporting the preparation and design of workshop materials, promotional materials, scholarly presentations, publications and external funding proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the supervisor, including responding to requests and coordinating tasks.
  • Support the planning and execution of workshops and events, including coordinating logistics and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and design of workshop materials, promotional materials, scholarly presentations, publications and external funding proposals.
  • Monitor and maintain the TILT website and provide financial support to the Coordinator, TILT with respect to the operating and program budgets.
Qualifications

High school graduation and two years of post-secondary education including training in word processing, database, spreadsheet, and Internet applications; and training in financial practices, office procedures, and spreadsheet and database applications. 3 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

  • Good knowledge of university policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use enterprise-level financial systems (e.g., FAST, FINS, PeopleSoft) at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, schedules, and accomplish objectives.
