Job Summary:

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Lead Hand Plumber to join the Plant Maintenance team at Squamish Hospital. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising operational activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of plumbing services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule work orders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Supervise designated staff and provide guidance on plumbing operations.
  • Identify resource requirements and coordinate upcoming work to be performed.
  • Perform skilled Journeyman work as a Plumber, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Hold the Gas Contractor Registration Certificate for the designated site, as per Provincial Regulation.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber.
  • Class B level Gas fitters license with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC.
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section.
  • Four years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to deal with others in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
