Job Summary:
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Lead Hand Plumber to join the Plant Maintenance team at Squamish Hospital. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising operational activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of plumbing services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule work orders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Supervise designated staff and provide guidance on plumbing operations.
- Identify resource requirements and proactively coordinate upcoming work.
- Perform skilled Journeyman work as a Plumber, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Hold the Gas Contractor Registration Certificate for the designated site, as per Provincial Regulation.
Requirements:
- Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber.
- Class B level Gas fitters license with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC.
- Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section.
- Four years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to deal with others in a professional and respectful manner.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to supervise and lead a team.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
