Position Overview:
A temporary part-time position for a Registered Nurse is currently available in the Operating Room.
This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care within the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room, adhering to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies established by Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
Qualifications:
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is advantageous
- Completion of a Post Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing is mandatory
- Membership in RNAO and CNA is beneficial
- Previous experience in the Operating Room is required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications or willingness to obtain
- Post Anesthetic Care Nursing certification/course or willingness to pursue
- Flexibility to work across all areas of the Surgical Suite on a rotating basis
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and critical-thinking abilities
- Capability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to take on leadership or charge roles
- Understanding of evidence-based practices and Operating Room nursing standards
- Commitment to ongoing education and participation in departmental training
- Consistent performance and attendance are essential
- Positive reference checks are required prior to commencement
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check must be provided
- Completion of a Pre-Employment Health Assessment, including proof of full COVID vaccination, is necessary prior to hiring
Hours:
- Standard Operating Room hours: Monday – Friday
- Availability for on-call duties is required
Salary:
- Compensation is based on the current ONA salary grid

For eligibility in the CCPN bonus incentive program, candidates must meet specific criteria, including not having been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to hiring and holding a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
