Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room. This is a regular part-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the team
  • Participate in departmental educational activities and continuing education
  • Meet the qualifications and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
Requirements:
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BScN an asset
  • Post Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing required
  • Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset
  • Years of OR experience
  • Current BCLS
  • Current certificate in ACLS & PALS or willingness to obtain
  • Post Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate/course or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work in all areas of Surgical Suite on a rotating basis
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as an effective team member
