Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.


Job Summary:

This is a temporary part-time Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care within the OR, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of perioperative nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room
  • Work effectively in a team environment to ensure smooth operations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BScN an asset
  • Post Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing required
  • Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset
  • Years of experience in the Operating Room
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Current certificate in ACLS & PALS or willingness to obtain
  • Post Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate/course or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work in all areas of the Surgical Suite on a rotating basis
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as an effective team member
  • Leadership and charge role responsibilities
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice and standards of Operating Room nursing
  • Commitment to continuing education and departmental activities
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check and Pre-Employment Health Assessment required

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to respond to on-call situations as needed.


Benefits:

The Groves Memorial Community Hospital offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including participation in the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN).


Eligible nurses can receive up to $10,000 in exchange for a two-year commitment to Groves Memorial Community Hospital and North Wellington Health Care.


To be eligible, nurses must not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired, hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario, begin employment no later than March 31, commit to two years of employment at a full-time work schedule, and not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.

This program provides incentives (up to $10,000) to eligible nurses in exchange for a two-year commitment to Groves Memorial Community Hospital and North Wellington Health Care.


To be eligible for the CCPN bonus incentive program, a nurse must:



  • Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired;
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Begin employment no later than March 31;
  • Commit to two years of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer; and
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
