Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Conduct thorough assessments and document patient information accurately
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Participate in departmental educational activities and continuing education
  • Meet the qualifications and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
Requirements:
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BScN an asset
  • Post Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing required
  • Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset
  • Years of OR experience
  • Current BCLS
  • Current certificate in ACLS & PALS or willingness to obtain
  • Post Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate/course or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work in all areas of Surgical Suite on a rotating basis
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member
  • Ability to assume a leadership/charge role
