Job Title: Full-time Registrar

Algonquin College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-time Registrar to lead the strategic direction of the Registrar's Office. As a key member of the College Leadership Team, the Registrar will be responsible for managing a team of 70 full-time employees, 30 part-time employees, and multiple project-specific contract employees who serve a student population of 20,000+ full-time and 40,000+ part-time registrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic oversight and accountability for activities that impact organizational financial viability, program quality, organizational integrity, government compliance, and associated funding.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and processes to ensure equity and consistency in the administration of provincial and College administrative and academic policies.
  • Direct and facilitate the development and implementation of strategic enrolment management strategies to maximize funding opportunities and ensure the timely and accurate reporting of application, registration, enrolment, financial aid, and other information to the College community and to the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient administration of Financial Aid and Student Awards operations and services, including the delivery of Financial Assistance in compliance with Ministry requirements and all applicable legislation.
  • Protect the privacy and security of personal information and ensure that the Algonquin College Executive Team is apprised of changes in Ministry policy regarding admission, fees, audit, and certification.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Social Sciences or related fields and/or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 11 years of related experience in a role with increased responsibility and a minimum of 8 years in leadership roles with people management experience.
  • Understanding of the College's range of activities and programs, the Ontario postsecondary environment, and the intersection between the College and the postsecondary landscape.
  • Excellent client service, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Large budget management and related financial experience, certification, and/or analysis an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team building, and delegation skills, with high emotional intelligence and a passionate commitment to the organizational vision.
