**Duties**:
Among other daily tasks, the incumbent of this position is responsible for creating and managing user library accounts; managing loans, renewals, returns, holds, and missing or lost items; compiling circulation statistics; acting as backup when the inter-library loan technician is away; creating, publishing and/or updating a number of our information products on the library portal; doing shifts on the reference desk.

**Work environment**:
The Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) is Canada’s final court of appeal. The SCC is a bilingual institution that hears cases in French and English, in all areas of the law, such as family, criminal, and tax law. It decides cases from Canada’s two major legal traditions, common and civil law. Its decisions affect the lives of all Canadians. This position requires you to work on-site at the Supreme Court of Canada located at 301 Wellington Street, in Ottawa.

EDUCATION:
Successfully completed a two
- or three-year Library Technician's program from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:
Experience in searching online bibliographic databases and library catalogues in a library environment.
Experience in using the circulation modules of an Integrated Library System (ILS).

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience creating web pages using web content management systems.
Experience with SirsiDynix Symphony Integrated Library System, Refworks or similar bibliographic management systems and/or Interlibrary Loan systems.
