Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Cage and Coin Manager, this role is accountable for supervising the daily operations of the cage and main banking functions. Your strong presence on the gaming floor will be essential for effectively managing personnel and engaging with guests while providing outstanding guest service. You will ensure adherence to the regulations set forth by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) along with all relevant laws, policies, and procedures. As a role model, you will exemplify integrity, respect, and accountability, contributing to the recruitment, training, assessment, recognition, and growth of your team. You will foster a safe and inclusive work environment for all staff members, inspiring and leading by example while promoting a culture of learning. Compliance with all policies and procedures is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising the daily operations of the cage and main banking functions
  • Assisting in the recruitment, training, assessment, recognition, and development of team members
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members, vendors, and regulators.
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, and other statutory regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Strong mathematical skills, managerial capabilities, and familiarity with a high-volume, fast-paced, shift-work environment
  • Proficient in computer software with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Capability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
  • Ability to exceed expectations of both internal and external guests through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, deadlines, and deliverables; exposure to potential conflict, distress, and noise;
  • This position requires a flexible schedule that accommodates the business needs of a 24-hour operation, including non-traditional work hours such as evenings and weekends.

Compliance Requirements

  • All team members must comply with the Corporate Ethics & Conduct Manual and all other corporate policies communicated to them.
  • Each team member will be familiarized with the business process documentation and internal control objectives related to their role, understanding how their job description aligns with specific internal control activities for which they are responsible.
  • Adherence to all company and regulatory policies as they pertain to the functions of the position is essential.

Licensing and Certification Requirements

Permanent employment is contingent upon the authorization and ongoing approval of Provincial regulatory bodies. New team members will complete an application and commence work after regulatory approval is granted. Existing team members will reapply as necessary, with continued employment dependent upon successful renewal.
