Supervision: Under the guidance of the X-Ray Supervisor

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time, 1.0FTE (37.5 hours/week), Tuesday to Saturday Evenings and Weekends

Work Environment: Rotating across Various Clinics

Position Responsibilities:

This role involves evening and weekend shifts from Tuesday to Saturday, with a predictable schedule for rotating shifts.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist / Combined Laboratory & X-Ray Technologist, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the delivery of reliable, accurate, and compassionate services to our patients and healthcare partners.

You will collaborate with a team that values high-quality radiological examinations. Your ability to work independently and with minimal supervision is essential, as is your commitment to providing safe and efficient radiological services while prioritizing patient comfort.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of standardized and complex procedures as directed by Radiologists and referring Physicians.
  • Manage the operation and basic upkeep of all imaging equipment.
  • Ensure all diagnostic imaging equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Maintain safety protocols and cleanliness in the radiographic area, focusing on radiation safety and infection control.
  • Utilize computer systems for all diagnostic imaging office tasks.
  • Guide patients through the examination process.
  • Assist in training new staff and students as needed.
  • Uphold quality control standards in all procedures.
  • Support Radiologists and colleagues as required.
  • Manage inventory supplies in examination rooms.
  • Ensure patient care and safety are prioritized.
  • Report any inventory shortages or equipment issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information and results.
  • Be open to cross-training in additional imaging modalities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MRT(R)/CLXT designation in good standing with CAMRT, ACMDTT, or ACCLXT.
  • Certification in medication preparation is an asset.
  • CPR and Standard First Aid certification is beneficial.
