Your Opportunity:

The CT & Angio department at Alberta Health Services operates in a dynamic setting, delivering critical support to various medical programs including Trauma Services, Thoracic Surgery, and Intensive Care Units. Our patient base includes individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those referred from Emergency Departments and inpatient units.

Position Overview:

As an Advanced Medical Imaging Technologist II, you will conduct specialized radiological imaging examinations aimed at diagnosing diseases and medical conditions. Your responsibilities will include executing advanced diagnostic imaging procedures for review by Physicians or Radiologists, interpreting medical requisitions, and ensuring the upkeep and functionality of imaging equipment.

Essential Qualifications:

Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active registration or eligibility for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in NetCare, PAC, and Connect Care systems. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to make sound judgments and decisions. Demonstrated capacity to work efficiently with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Experience with various procedures including drains, trauma care, and biopsies. Capability to function effectively in high-pressure situations and a commitment to ongoing professional development in the field. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary health teams while exhibiting respect and partnership. Physical capability to perform all components of Occupational Health and Safety tasks, including pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting/carrying/transferring patients and equipment. Willingness to wear lead aprons for extended periods and lift weights up to 50lbs.
