Job Summary:

The Medical Radiation Technologist II role at Alberta Health Services is a critical position in our CT & Angio department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients to aid in disease and pathology diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT and angiography scans, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and support.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in imaging services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.

Requirements:

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist program.
  • Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Experience with NetCare, PAC, and Connect Care systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proven judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with procedures such as drains, traumas, and biopsies.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations and a desire to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Ability to work with various health disciplines and demonstrate respect and partnership.
  • Ability to complete all components of OHS job requirements, including lifting, bending, and wearing lead aprons.
