Position Overview:

The Academic Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency within educational institutions. This position involves providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations based on data analysis and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough analysis and synthesis of diverse information sources to develop sustainable and actionable strategies.
  • Offering expert advice and consultation on the development of operational strategies.
  • Leading resource allocation processes to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Collaborating within the team to implement principles that promote consistency and accountability.
  • Working alongside academic program leaders to refine operational strategies and processes.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of strategic enrollment initiatives.
  • Partnering with facilities and space planning teams to align capital resource allocation.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of critical operational timelines.
  • Coordinating with program chairs and administrative staff to streamline operational workflows.
  • Monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to operational plans.
  • Supporting the administrative aspects of program development and resource management.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in academic operations, aiding in the launch of new programs through market research, feasibility assessments, and curriculum planning.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of methods and practices related to the development of academic operational strategies.
  • Familiarity with relevant departmental policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of operational and project management methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications:

This position is governed by the applicable collective agreement.
