Job Title: Banquet & Beverage Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Banquet & Beverage Supervisor to join our team at Gateway. As a key player in our hospitality team, you will be responsible for directing staff, maintaining policies and procedures, and providing knowledge, support, and coaching to ensure a memorable experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular contact with all necessary parties to ensure successful event execution
  • Complete various tasks to ensure effective operations, including planning for adequate C.R.E.W. members levels and managing payroll
  • Conduct daily inspections for quality of the cleaning and maintenance of all areas and equipment, ensuring adherence to regulations, standards, and policies
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Promote and model the highest level of customer service, ensuring that C.R.E.W. members deliver a maximum level of service and customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained
  • Supervise C.R.E.W. members and manage the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage, and drive a high-performing team
  • Control all liquor, wine, and beer inventories, purchasing, and storage
  • Plan, schedule, and organize varied types of banquet functions, including plated galas, buffets, corporate luncheons, group coffee breaks, and business breakfasts
  • Plan, schedule, and organize concessions and bar service for all events in the Entertainment center

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a leadership position within the food and beverage industry
  • Banquet and beverage experience and product knowledge an asset
  • Knowledge and experience working with the Liquor License Act
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Possess exceptional customer relations and communication skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel, coupled with good computer aptitude for scheduling and inventory systems
  • Able to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and be well-organized
