The Banquet & Beverage Supervisor is a key player on our hospitality team, directing staff in a way that is motivational and inspiring. Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular contact with all necessary parties to ensure successful event execution
  • Complete various tasks to ensure effective operations, including planning for adequate staff levels and managing payroll. Oversee scheduling to ensure staff meets expected business levels
  • Conduct daily inspections for quality of the cleaning and maintenance of all areas and equipment ensuring adherence to regulations, standards and policies
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards, policies and procedures. Review and make recommendations for changes or creation of policies or procedures as required
  • Promote and model the highest level of customer service, ensuring that staff deliver a maximum level of service and customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained. Work quickly to resolve customer complaints
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards, policies and procedures. Review and make recommendations for changes or creation of policies or procedures as required
  • Supervise staff and manage the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team
  • Control all liquor, wine and beer inventories, purchasing and storage
  • Plan, schedule, organize varied types of banquet functions from plated galas, buffets, corporate luncheons, group coffee breaks and business breakfasts etc.
  • Plan, schedule and organize concessions and bar service for all events in the entertainment center

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a leadership position within the food and beverage industry
  • Banquet & beverage experience and product knowledge an asset
  • Knowledge and experience working with the liquor license act
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Possess exceptional customer relations and communication skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel coupled with good computer aptitude for scheduling and inventory systems
  • Able to work flexible hours including overnight, weekend and holiday shifts
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize and be well organized
