About the Role

Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide strategic support to our leadership and employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with management to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, address employee relations issues, and manage performance management and coaching.
  • Handle sensitive employee relations issues with discretion and provide solutions to employee-related concerns.
  • Manage the end-to-end performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and salary planning.
  • Assess and maintain payroll budgets, merit increases, and annual bonuses.
  • Recruit and onboard new employees, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding.
  • Work with managers to address performance issues, disciplinary action notices, and ensure consistent standards are met.
  • Consult on involuntary terminations and manage the onboarding process for new associates.
  • Conduct exit interviews and off-board exiting associates.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, interviews, reference checks, and liaising with temp agencies.
  • Update the employee handbook yearly and maintain policies in accordance with OHSA, ESA 2000, and OHRC.
  • Enter new benefits online, provide staff with necessary paperwork, and make changes to existing accounts.
  • Transmit full-cycle payroll bi-weekly through Ceridian PowerPay & DayForce Web and reconcile year-end documents.
  • Reconcile expenses, bonuses, and commissions for payroll.
  • Manage disability processes with insurance carriers and ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Track vacation, sick, and lieu days for all staff through the Ceridian payroll platform.
  • Maintain and enroll employees in benefits and RRSP, update premiums, and payroll changes.
  • Stay current with Ontario and Quebec Labour Laws and the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
  • Complete job descriptions and perform compensation analysis using PayFactors.
  • Arrange equipment for new hires, including phones, laptops, access cards, and air cards.
  • Responsible for Health and Safety in the Office/Warehouse, including CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, and Emergency Response training.
  • Design and deliver training programs as requested.
  • Responsible for arranging annual fire drills, warehouse machinery licenses, and track renewals.
  • Responsible for running the JHSC Joint Health & Safety Committee for H&S of both Montreal office and Vaughan Office and distribution center.
  • Responsible for training staff on emergency closures and inclement weather situations.
  • Social Committee, ensure coordination of meetings and events taking place, employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Psychology, or related discipline and 3-6 years of HR generalist and payroll processing experience.
  • Strong expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to present and facilitate training sessions.
  • Problem resolution skills.
  • Maintain utmost confidentiality between employees and management.
  • Exempt position, must be able to work overtime, and/or weekends as required.
  • Must have a vehicle and be able to travel (Montreal once per month), occasional to US.
