Custodial Relief Specialist

Position Overview
The Custodial Relief Specialist is accountable to the Principal for the upkeep and maintenance of the school's facilities and equipment. This role is essential in ensuring that the educational environment is preserved in a hygienic, secure, and sanitary condition.
By fulfilling these duties, the incumbent contributes significantly to the health, safety, and security of students, staff, and the public. This directly influences students' capacity to engage in effective learning and enables educators to deliver instruction in a conducive environment. A well-maintained setting fosters a sense of pride among students and staff, serving as a model for appropriate behavior.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Familiarity with cleaning protocols, chemicals, products, and equipment
• Competence in reading and comprehending labels and instructions, especially regarding cleaning agents
• Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
• Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making
• Strong time management capabilities

• Capacity to understand the goals, objectives, and operations of the organization

Qualifications
The ideal candidate typically possesses a completion of Grade 10 along with relevant experience. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
Additional Information
This position is classified as a Relief role, which entails no fixed hours of work on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The incumbent may be called upon to work as needed for facilities that operate year-round.
