The Custodial Relief Specialist is accountable to the Principal and is tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of the school's facilities and equipment. The role is essential in ensuring that the educational environment is preserved in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition.

Upholding these responsibilities is crucial for the health, safety, and security of students, staff, and the public. This has a direct influence on students' ability to engage in a productive learning experience and on teachers' capacity to deliver instruction in a conducive environment. A tidy and organized setting also fosters a sense of pride among students and staff, serving as a model for appropriate conduct.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Familiarity with cleaning protocols, chemicals, products, and equipment

• Proficient in reading and comprehending labels and instructions, especially regarding the use and application of cleaning agents

• Capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Effective time management skills

• Proficient verbal communication skills

• Ability to understand the goals, objectives, and operations of the organization

• Knowledge of local culture and the ability to function in a diverse environment

• Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of Grade 10 along with relevant experience. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is classified as a Relief role, meaning there are no fixed hours of work on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The incumbent may be called upon to work as needed for facilities that operate year-round.

SALARY INFORMATION
