Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary part-time position responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care within the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery Room
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in departmental educational activities and continuing education
  • Meet the qualifications and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
Requirements:
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BScN an asset
  • Post Graduate Course in Perioperative Nursing required
  • Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset
  • Years of OR experience
  • Current BCLS
  • Current certificate in ACLS & PALS or willingness to obtain
  • Post Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate/course or willingness to obtain

To be eligible for the CCPN bonus incentive program, a nurse must:

  • Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired;
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Begin employment no later than March ;
  • Commit to two-years of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer; and
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
