The Role

In the capacity of Product Development Director, you will leverage your experience in scaling products and your proven ability to lead high-performing teams. You will be responsible for making and executing critical decisions that significantly influence the business while reshaping the industry landscape. Ideally, you possess a background in leading product initiatives within a B2B/B2C marketplace, guiding a business through various funding stages and potentially to a successful exit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on product vision, strategic planning, and ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap across the organization.
  • Demonstrate a history of implementing Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies that enhance user acquisition, engagement, and retention. Utilize data-driven insights to optimize product features and user experiences.
  • Establish and nurture a professional product management culture. Lead a cross-functional product team and assist in recruiting experienced Product Managers and Designers from your professional network.
  • Recruit skilled product managers who have successfully launched products at scale and managed them throughout their lifecycle.
  • Act as the representative for product management across the organization, facilitating communication and integrating feedback from design, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, customer support, and other departments.
  • Empower product managers within the organization to work efficiently and achieve results. Clearly define roles and responsibilities for product managers and gain cross-company support for streamlined production processes.
  • Develop training programs to onboard and support new employees. Ensure that VendorPM provides adequate mentoring and training for new product managers and collaborates with Directors to extend this support to all product teams.
  • Establish company-wide product management processes. Create the necessary frameworks to efficiently manage product development, prioritize product decisions, and successfully launch new products.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in all facets of product management, focusing on driving growth through innovation and execution.
  • Proven leadership capabilities across multiple functions, including Product, Design, and Analytics.
  • Experience in a B2B/B2C marketplace, guiding a business from early funding stages to exit.
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable infrastructure and define optimal organizational structures.
  • History of developing and mentoring high-performing teams that are inspired to excel and think creatively due to your leadership.
  • Experience in making product decisions based on user data and insights.
  • Expertise in refining internal processes to enhance speed and quality, delivering exceptional user experiences, and collaborating on product strategies for a range of applications from mobile to enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a successful track record in building and scaling user-centric products.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
  • Extensive experience in implementing robust research methodologies and A/B testing processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong awareness of technological trends and their potential impact on current and future business operations.

Compensation

Competitive salary range of 170-180K.
