Reporting directly to the VP of Product for Digital Banking, the Head of Product Strategy will be responsible for crafting a comprehensive product strategy roadmap across various teams, aimed at enhancing the banking experience for our clients. This role entails understanding customer needs, developing innovative digital banking products that align with both customer and business objectives, and ensuring efficient project delivery for our 24/7 online banking services.

A key aspect of this position is the ability to mentor, coach, and manage both existing and new members of our Product team. You will oversee a core product team comprising multiple product managers, guiding them in their efforts to enhance the digital banking experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gain insights into our users' needs through direct interactions, collaboration with customer service, conducting surveys, and analyzing user behavior data.
  • Formulate a product strategy across teams for essential functionalities that address banking customer needs while achieving EQ's annual business objectives. Communicate this strategy effectively to senior leadership.
  • Provide comprehensive leadership and oversight on all projects stemming from the product strategy, including the development of product requirement documents, risk assessments, and execution plans. Manage large cross-functional teams and address project challenges across various locations.
  • Innovate differentiated financial products in collaboration with our financial teams.
  • Assess the impact of new and existing products to understand customer behavior and validate their influence on business metrics.
  • Lead a high-performing product team, ensuring optimal performance and outcomes.
  • Tackle complex, multifaceted challenges that often lack precedent, always prioritizing the best interests of our customers and staff.
  • Effectively communicate with senior management regarding product performance and the potential impact of new product or technical investments on the business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with essential non-technical teams, including legal, compliance, finance, customer experience, operational risk, fraud, and security.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in product management.
  • 5+ years of experience leading e-commerce platforms, mobile products, banking finance products, payment processing products, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in people management, demonstrating effective coaching and leadership of a team of at least 3+ product managers.
  • Proven track record of delivering customer-facing services with significant business impact, particularly with user bases exceeding 50,000.
  • Experience in a fintech environment or with financial products is advantageous.
