Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director, Inventory Planning and Logistics at AV Group NB Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of forestry and timber management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide leadership for the harvesting, planning, and silviculture operations on AV Group's Crown Timber Licenses and Freehold Lands.
  • Deliver woodlands budget in a challenging wood market.
  • Deliver high-quality and cost-effective wood to our two NB Mills located in Nackawic and Atholville.
  • Maintain healthy wood inventories by species and form according to our safety stocks policy.
  • Work closely with Unit Heads and Central Operations to find ways to reduce wood costs and improve fiber yield and quality.
  • Negotiate wood contracts for price and volume with market participants and the government alike under the terms of AVG.
  • Understand the impact of the Woodlands department decisions and how they impact the company's P&L.
  • Effectively build collaborative business networks within and outside AVG.
  • Provide leadership to the Woodlands team and the AVG team as such.
  • Represent the company as required in sustainability forums and conferences.
  • Live our safety culture and be a safety ambassador in the field.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Forestry or Forestry Engineering.
  • MBA considered a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite.
  • Strong commercial skills.
