Veterinary Technician Program Developer

Fleming College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic expert to develop and implement a new Veterinary Technician Diploma program. As a faculty member, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and educational experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an immersive curriculum for the Veterinary Technician Diploma program, ensuring it meets the accreditation requirements of the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians.
- Work collaboratively with the Learning Design and Support team and New Program Development team to create an innovative and effective program.
- Be responsible for all aspects of the submission to Credential Validation Services (CVS) for program curriculum approval.
- Have a strong background in veterinary technology and adult education, with a minimum of five years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting.
- Be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and maintain a current registration with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) in good standing.
- Have experience teaching/training in a post-secondary setting, with a focus on adult learning theories and innovative delivery methods.
- Be able to design a rich and open learning environment that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion, and has a commitment to Fleming's Honouring the Rights of Indigenous People Policy.
- Have strong leadership abilities, including the drive to continuously learn and achieve results through consultative decision-making processes.
- Have superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver and receive feedback, and highly developed critical thinking/problem solving, and organizational/time management skills.
- Formal education through an accredited Veterinary Technician/Technologist program.
- At least five years of current experience as a Veterinary Technician with demonstrated experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience developing and delivering curriculum in a post-secondary setting, with a focus on adult learning theories and innovative delivery methods.
- Experience in an e-learning environment, with proficiency in current education teaching technologies (including Learning Management Systems).
