About the Position

Fleming College is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to develop and deliver an immersive curriculum for a new Veterinary Technician Diploma program. The successful candidate will work closely with the Academic Chair, School of Health & Community Services, to create an innovative program that meets the accreditation requirements for Veterinary Technician programs as prescribed by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians.

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the submission to Credential Validation Services (CVS) for program curriculum approval. This includes designing a rich and open learning environment that embraces creative teaching and evaluation methods that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary technology, with at least five years of current experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting. They will also possess teaching/training experience applying theories of adult learning at the post-secondary level, with a focus on developing and delivering curriculum in a variety of formats, including lectures, seminars, labs, and clinical placements.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and maintain a current registration with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) in good standing. They will also have the ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment, with strong leadership abilities and a commitment to Fleming's Honouring the Rights of Indigenous People Policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an immersive curriculum for the Veterinary Technician Diploma program

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field
  • At least five years of current experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting
  • Teaching/training experience applying theories of adult learning at the post-secondary level
  • Registration with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) in good standing
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment, with strong leadership abilities
