Senior Financial Reporting and Advisory Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Financial Reporting and Advisory Director to join our team at Kinross Gold Corporation. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the management of external financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure for our global operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead External Financial Reporting and Advisory
- Develop and implement strategies for external financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure to ensure compliance with securities regulators' requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including interim and annual financial statements, Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and other reports.
- Lead technical projects, including defining project goals, anticipating and minimizing risks, and managing resources.
- Advise Management on Complex Financial Matters
- Provide expert advice on complex financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure matters to senior management.
- Research and benchmark best practices in financial reporting and accounting to recommend improvements to Kinross' senior management.
- Assist site Finance teams and corporate accounting staff in resolving local accounting issues.
- Capitalize on Advanced Knowledge of Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Act as an ambassador for continuous improvement in financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure.
- Develop and implement company-wide standards, procedures, and policies for financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure.
- Provide input on the drafting of financial disclosures included in prospectuses, management information circulars, regulatory statements, and similar documents filed with securities commissions.
- Lead Special Projects in Finance
- Lead and contribute to analysis in support of M&A activities, including due diligence, preparation of pro forma information, integration, and analysis of accounting and disclosure implications of transactions.
- Lead and/or contribute to analysis and recommendations on potential financings.
- Support the finance team in various activities during quarterly and annual reporting, as needed.
- University degree in Finance or Accounting
- 8 to 10 years of related work experience or equivalent
- Experience in the mining industry
- Experience in corporate financial reporting role or similar function
- Experience leading professionals
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Experience in leading non-routine financial analysis and accounting
- Experience in the analysis and implementation of accounting policies
- Experience leading projects of varying scope and complexity
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, and OSC and SEC Rules and Regulations
- Excellent management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
