Position OverviewThe Director of Financial Reporting and Advisory will lead and develop a team of finance professionals responsible for executing the financial strategy and establishing processes related to external financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure.
Key Responsibilities1. Leadership in Financial Reporting- Oversee external financial reporting, accounting, and disclosure for a large public entity.
- Ensure accuracy of interim and annual financial statements, Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and other regulatory filings.
- Evaluate complex financial disclosure requirements and implement best practices.
- Develop strategies for the financial reporting function aligned with corporate vision and strategic goals.
- Manage compliance with regulatory requirements and liaise with external auditors.
- Provide expert guidance on complex financial reporting and accounting matters.
- Prepare business cases and reports for key stakeholders.
- Research and benchmark against industry peers to recommend improvements.
- Promote continuous improvement in financial reporting practices.
- Develop company-wide standards and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Identify training needs and facilitate educational programs.
- Lead analyses supporting M&A activities and other financial initiatives.
- Manage special projects related to external reporting and corporate accounting.
- University degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA or equivalent).
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the mining sector.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting for large public companies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
