The Client Banking Specialist provides outstanding service to customers and potential clients. This role involves understanding customer requirements and offering tailored financial solutions that align with their best interests. The Specialist collaborates with branch teams and BMO partners to enhance the customer experience and meet business goals.

  • Works with BMO partners to discover referral opportunities that strengthen customer relationships beyond personal banking.
  • Welcomes customers into the branch, guiding them through available digital and self-service options to ensure a seamless banking experience.
  • As a lobby leader, engages in discussions with clients about banking services, recommending alternative channels and providing personalized banking and investment advice.
  • Efficiently addresses customer transaction needs with precision.
  • Reviews customer profiles and initiates needs-based conversations to uncover potential opportunities related to everyday banking and credit card requirements.
  • Contributes to the branch's business performance and enhances the overall customer experience.
  • Assists with operational tasks such as inventory management and following up on customer applications.
  • Plays a vital role in a collaborative branch team.
  • Understands customer banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing promotions into discussions to offer strategic advice.
  • Organizes work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Takes initiative to personalize each customer's experience creatively.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve the overall branch customer experience.
  • Supports business outcomes and enhances the branch's service delivery.
  • May be required to work at various branches based on market demands; work schedules may vary.
  • Adheres to risk and compliance protocols to protect customer assets and maintain privacy.
  • Stays informed about the financial services landscape and regulatory requirements to uphold ethical standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of personal banking products and trends to inform customer interactions.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activities potentially linked to money laundering.
  • Complies with all legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Safeguards the Bank's assets in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Handles diverse tasks within established guidelines.
  • Analyzes issues and determines appropriate next steps; escalates when necessary.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or certification in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration to sell investment products is preferred (must be completed within 12 months) as applicable.
  • Proficient in using social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in consultative customer service or sales roles, with a commitment to delivering personalized customer experiences.
  • Basic understanding of specialized sales and business banking solutions for referrals.
  • Strong dedication to assisting customers.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team environment.
  • Resourceful self-starter with the confidence to engage customers.
  • Willingness to collaborate and work in various capacities within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
  • Strong listening, problem-solving, and adaptable skills.
  • Basic specialized knowledge is beneficial.

Salary: $35, $52,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
