The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admitting Clerk to join our team at IWK Health. Reporting to the Manager, Health Information Services, you will be responsible for performing a variety of reception and clerical duties to ensure the efficient operation of the unit.

Responsibilities include data entry, transport functions, ordering and maintaining supplies, auditing functions, and arranging for shift coverage. You will work closely with the Health Information Services supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of the unit.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, daytime hours, with flexibility to work additional shifts as needed.

Your Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Completion of a recognized office administration program an asset
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred
  • Emergency experience preferred
  • Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills required
  • Flexibility to work additional shifts preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
  • Competency in other languages an asset
