Cardiac Surgery Clinical Assistant

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our team in the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery. As an Associate Physician, you will work under the supervision of a fully licensed physician to provide medical care to patients. This is a permanent full-time position with a 96-hour bi-weekly schedule.
About the OpportunityThe successful candidate will be responsible for assisting at surgical procedures, performing appropriate portions of the procedure within their demonstrated competence, and working with attending staff, nurses, and residents to develop the overall patient care program. They will also communicate with patients, families, referring physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who meets the requirements to obtain a Clinical Assistant License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and has obtained a Review of Qualifications from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia prior to application. The ideal candidate will have a good command of written and spoken English, be able to promote and maintain good interpersonal skills, and have a strong commitment to patient care.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position with a 96-hour bi-weekly schedule. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. The hourly rate for this position is $51.67 - $65.80.
