The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Day Surgery team at IWK Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide holistic, comprehensive evidence-based care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities.

Reporting to the Manager of the Pediatric Day Surgery/Recovery Room, you will be responsible for providing leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/family care. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. You will have a minimum of one year of recent pediatric nursing experience, with a strong background in pediatric recovery room care. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic, comprehensive evidence-based care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities
  • Lead nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/family care
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients and families
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and well-being
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Minimum one year of recent pediatric nursing experience
  • Strong background in pediatric recovery room care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
