Our Earth Sciences and Engineering division excels in site planning, spatial information, digital terrain modeling, subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, and water resource management, utilizing our geotechnical and civil site development expertise.

We are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to various ongoing projects from our Calgary office. This role involves performing comprehensive civil engineering and design tasks, including site preparation, grading, drainage, and road construction for mining and heavy industrial projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the civil project team to successful completion of assigned projects, focusing on bulk earthworks, site drainage, mine and plant roads, and earth structures design.
  • Conduct QA/QC of design calculations and contract documents.
  • Assume responsibility for discipline practices within the assigned project scope.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Ensure quality control through thorough checking and verification of drawings and calculations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Preferred: Licensed Engineer in Alberta.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience (e.g., mining, energy, or infrastructure).
  • Proficient in site grading and drainage design, including stormwater management.
  • Experience in road and sanitary sewer design.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the design process and civil design software applications.
  • Previous experience in large-scale projects involving bulk earthworks and site grading.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and motivating junior engineers.
  • A dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivated and quick to deliver on projects.
