Actalent Industrial Engineer Job Overview

Position Summary: The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the paint shop, body shop, and general assembly teams to enhance the productivity of our manufacturing operations. As part of a dedicated team of five Industrial Engineers, you will evaluate concepts, identify necessary installations or tools, and execute solutions directly on the production floor. This role emphasizes the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, where you will analyze throughput data to support departments in boosting performance, standardizing work for upcoming products, and facilitating the launch of innovative products. You will be at the forefront of driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Minimize waste across various resources including time, finances, materials, labor, machine operation, energy, and other non-value-adding elements.
  2. Propose, endorse, and execute modifications to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
  3. Develop, monitor, and analyze Manufacturing Master Schedules to track progress, evaluate program status, and promptly identify performance challenges.
  4. Apply critical path methodologies in network development, analysis, and problem-solving.
  5. Streamline operational sequences and workflows for optimal efficiency.
  6. Design crew plans to ensure effective resource allocation and utilization.
  7. Establish metrics to track schedule progress and pinpoint risk areas.
  8. Enhance efficiencies through waste reduction and process enhancements.
  9. Conduct data analysis to establish shop metrics and address complex challenges.
  10. Offer technical support and guidance to manufacturing and maintenance teams, production supervisors, and associates.

Required Skills:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or a related field (Process or Mechanical Engineering may be considered depending on the specific role).
  2. Familiarity with automation environments, including material handling systems, delivery systems, and automated bin picking.
